The STARC Reality-
How Walls can be As Exciting as Bean Boots
AND
How MTI is using a Business Self-Assessment Tool
STARC Systems began as a startup in TechPlace on Brunswick Landing and has expanded manufacturing into a dedicated building. The President and CEO, Chris Vickers, will tell the story and give insight into how they have overcome and are continuing to overcome the barriers along the way.
We will also have Joe Migliaccio, Director of Business Development speaking about how MTI is using VIRAL®:
What is VIRAL® and How does MTI use VIRAL®?
VIRAL, Venture Investment Readiness Assessment Levels, is a framework originally developed by Village Capital, a nationally recognized leader in investment and entrepreneurial development. It is a self-assessment tool for measuring the maturity of an organization or business across eight different areas.
MTI, in partnership with Village Capital, has adopted and adapted this framework to help guide investment decisions and promote a common language that will improve communications between investors and organizations seeking their investment. While the tool is focused on venture-investment readiness, it can be applicable to nearly every type of organization, so we encourage anyone applying to MTI for funding to start with this assessment. The presentation will also provide an overview of MTI’s purpose and it’s process for decision-making and management of grants, loans and equity investments.
